PAS Penang has acknowledged pressure from grassroots members seeking to contest the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary seat, signaling the party is taking internal demands seriously ahead of potential electoral contests.
The recognition comes as the party grapples with seat distribution decisions across its Penang division. Party Information Chief Fawwaz Jan said grassroots concerns have been noted, indicating the leadership is aware of members' aspirations to represent the constituency.
However, Fawwaz emphasized that final decisions on seat allocation remain the prerogative of the party's highest leadership. He stressed that once a determination is made, all party members are expected to accept and support the outcome.
