PAS says gambling stance doesn't require manifesto pledge

KUALA LUMPUR — PAS believes its principled stance against gambling is sufficiently known to voters and does not require explicit inclusion in party manifestos, according to Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.
The assertion comes as political parties prepare their election platforms, with the Islamic party's position on gambling having been a consistent policy matter over the years.
Muhammad Sanusi indicated that PAS's track record and religious principles make its anti-gambling position self-evident to the electorate, eliminating the need for formal manifesto commitments on the issue.
The remarks reflect broader discussions within Malaysian political circles regarding which policy positions warrant explicit manifesto pledges and which are considered implicit in a party's broader ideological framework.
