MANILA — Melquiades "Mel" A. Robles, general manager of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), was promoted to rear admiral of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) during a formal ceremony held at Philippine Coast Guard Headquarters on Monday, October 5.

Robles was advanced from the rank of auxiliary commodore in recognition of his service contributions. The promotion ceremony underscored his dual roles in both the civilian lottery administration sector and the auxiliary maritime force.

In remarks following the ceremony, Robles characterized his elevation as a meaningful opportunity to deepen his dedication to service. The advancement reflects the PCGA's recognition of his capabilities and leadership within the organization.

The PCSO, under Robles' stewardship, administers the nation's legal lottery operations and generates revenue for health and charity programs. His appointment to the higher military rank adds to his responsibilities while maintaining his civilian administrative duties.
