PepsiCo is ramping up its India operations with plans to invest approximately Rs 5,700 crore by 2030, positioning the country as one of its most promising global markets. Jagrut Kotecha, Chief Executive Officer for India & South Asia, said the company remains "very bullish" on India's growth potential and expects the nation to break into its list of top 10 global markets in the coming years.
The multinational food and beverage corporation inaugurated its fifth manufacturing facility in Nalbari, Assam, on Thursday, backed by an investment of Rs 778 crore. The plant is part of PepsiCo's broader strategy to enhance capacity and strengthen its supply chain network across the region, capitalizing on India's expanding consumer base and manufacturing advantages.
The company has been accelerating its geographic footprint across India. Earlier this year, PepsiCo opened a concentrate manufacturing facility at Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh. Construction is also underway for another production unit in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, aimed at deepening the company's presence in South India, a region with significant growth potential for its product portfolio.
PepsiCo's investment trajectory reflects broader industry confidence in India's medium to long-term growth prospects, driven by rising consumption patterns, urbanization, and an expanding middle-class population seeking packaged beverages and snack foods.
