Perak eyes RM1.4 billion federal allocation for water infrastructure

IPOH — Perak has formally requested at least RM1.4 billion from the federal government's 2027 budget allocation to finance essential water supply projects, according to state authorities.

The substantial funding request reflects growing concerns about the adequacy of existing water infrastructure in the northern state as it grapples with increasing demand from both residential and industrial sectors. State officials have identified key water infrastructure projects as priorities that require urgent investment to ensure reliable service delivery across Perak's diverse regions.
