Perak PKR chief Hairul Amir appointed to Senate seat
The Perak state assembly has named Hairul Amir, chairman of the Perak PKR division, to fill a vacant Dewan Negara position. The appointment follows the conclusion of the previous senator's term.

Hairul Amir, who leads the Perak chapter of the People's Justice Party, has been selected to represent the state in the upper house of parliament. The nomination came through the state assembly's appointment process, a standard mechanism for filling Senate vacancies.
The Dewan Negara seat became available following the expiration of the term held by Mujahid Yusof Rawa on May 24. The position had remained unfilled pending the assembly's deliberations and decision on a suitable successor.
