Periyar Arivulagam reflects DMK's Dravidian ideology, Stalin says

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has framed the Periyar Arivulagam as an embodiment of the Dravidian Model Government's core principles, underscoring the DMK's ideological focus on knowledge dissemination and social welfare.

The Periyar Arivulagam joins a growing portfolio of library and knowledge-centre initiatives undertaken by the current Tamil Nadu administration. Stalin pointed to several flagship projects in this regard, including the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai and the Kalaignar Centenary Library in Madurai, both named after significant figures in the DMK's political history.

Beyond these major installations, the government has also launched Mudhalvar Padaippagams—grassroots knowledge programmes—while overseeing the restoration of the heritage Connemara Public Library in Egmore, a landmark institution in the state capital.

These initiatives reflect the DMK government's broader strategy to position itself as a custodian of intellectual resources and cultural heritage. The focus on Dravidian ideals, which emphasize social equality and rationalism, remains central to the party's governance agenda in Tamil Nadu.
