Perlis man denies sexual assault charges against two young girls

Annuar Abdullah appeared in court to deny the allegations, which stem from incidents occurring in the northern state during August. The charges relate to two separate cases involving minors, with prosecutors alleging that Abdullah committed sexual assault against the older child and criminal force against the younger victim.

The case adds to ongoing concerns about child safety in the state. Authorities have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged incidents in Kangar, a town in Perlis that sits near the Malaysian-Thai border.

The accused was released on bail pending further court proceedings. Legal proceedings are expected to continue as the court processes evidence and witness statements from both the prosecution and defence teams.

Sexual assault cases involving minors carry serious penalties under Malaysian law, with convictions potentially resulting in lengthy prison sentences and other legal consequences.
