Perlis MB denies PAS representatives treated as opposition
Perlis Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah has sought to clarify the working relationship between the state government and PAS representatives, stating they are not being marginalised despite their status as an opposition party at federal level.

Abu Bakar Hamzah said on Tuesday that PAS legislators and assemblymen in Perlis maintain productive working ties with the state administration and are not subjected to discriminatory treatment. The Menteri Besar emphasized that collaboration between the ruling coalition and PAS representatives functions smoothly at the state level, irrespective of their opposition role in Parliament.
The statement comes amid ongoing discussions about the nature of state-federal political alignments in Malaysia, where coalition compositions can vary significantly across different levels of government.
