Petaling Jaya children's home faces closure without urgent funding

Rumah Ozanam, a non-profit organisation operating residential facilities in Petaling Jaya, has issued an urgent call for funding as its reserves dwindle. The institution requires RM60,000 to sustain operations across its two homes that currently provide shelter and educational support to disadvantaged young people in the Klang Valley.

The organisation's appeal comes at a critical juncture, with officials warning that failure to secure the funds in the coming weeks could force the closure of one or both facilities. Rumah Ozanam relies primarily on donations and grants to fund its day-to-day operations, including accommodation, meals, and educational programmes for resident youths.

The homes serve a vulnerable population of children and teenagers who would otherwise lack stable housing and access to formal education. Residents receive not only basic necessities but also academic support and vocational training aimed at improving their long-term prospects.

Corporate sponsors, individual donors, and community organisations are being urged to contribute to the fundraising drive. Those interested in supporting Rumah Ozanam can contact the facility directly for information on donation methods and contribution levels.
