PhilHealth alerts public to CEO impersonation scams

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) issued an advisory Tuesday cautioning the public against scammers impersonating Chief Executive Officer Beverly Lorraine Ho to solicit funds and carry out unauthorized dealings in the agency's name.

In its warning, PhilHealth advised citizens to exercise caution when encountering social media posts, emails, or messages purporting to request money or donations on behalf of the corporation or its officials. The agency emphasized that it does not conduct fundraising campaigns through such channels and urged the public not to engage with these fraudulent communications.

PhilHealth stressed that any legitimate business conducted by the agency and its leadership follows official channels and established protocols. The corporation urged anyone who encounters such scams to report them immediately to relevant authorities and to refrain from sharing personal information or sending money in response to suspicious requests.

The advisory comes as online fraud continues to pose challenges across the Philippines, with scammers frequently exploiting the names and positions of government officials and institutional leaders to perpetrate financial crimes.
