MANILA — The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) issued a stern warning Tuesday against online posts and advertisements falsely offering to assist healthcare facilities in obtaining or speeding up accreditation with the government health insurer.
PhilHealth officials stated categorically that the agency has not delegated its accreditation functions to any external party. Fraudsters are capitalizing on healthcare providers' desire for faster processing by advertising unauthorized intermediary services across social media and digital platforms.
The cautionary notice comes as PhilHealth works to streamline its accreditation procedures through official channels. The corporation urged healthcare providers to apply directly through proper institutional mechanisms and warned the public not to engage with entities claiming special access or expedited processing capabilities.
PhilHealth also advised citizens to report suspected fraudulent schemes to the agency's official office. The state insurer emphasized that all legitimate accreditation inquiries and applications must be submitted through authorized PhilHealth offices and verified personnel only.
