Philippine Air Force completes Black Hawk helicopter acquisition program

MANILA — The Philippine Air Force marked a milestone in its modernization efforts by accepting the last batch of seven S-70i Black Hawk helicopters from Polish manufacturer PZL Mielec, completing a comprehensive acquisition program spanning multiple years.
The delivery of the final seven aircraft fulfills the PAF's initial 32-helicopter procurement agreement. Combined with previously acquired Black Hawk models, the service now operates a total fleet of 47 Black Hawk helicopters, positioning the Philippines among major operators of the widely-used rotorcraft platform.
The S-70i variant represents an enhanced version of the Black Hawk design, offering improved avionics, performance capabilities, and customization options tailored to the PAF's operational requirements.
