Anti-narcotics agents and naval intelligence personnel conducted the operation in Barangay Tugbungan at 2:15 p.m. on October 23, according to authorities. The coordinated buy-bust led to the seizure of the suspected methamphetamine, commonly known locally as "shabu," marking another significant drug interdiction for the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Mindanao region.
The operation represents ongoing efforts by Philippine law enforcement to combat illegal drug trafficking in the southern Philippines. Zamboanga City remains a strategic focus area for anti-narcotics operations given its location and maritime access.
Details regarding the suspect's identity and the extent of charges to be filed were not immediately available. The confiscated drugs have been turned over to appropriate authorities for documentation and disposition in accordance with Philippine drug enforcement protocols.
