Philippine Army deploys additional battalions to Maguindanao municipalities

ILIGAN CITY — Two support battalions of the Philippine Army were deployed on Monday to bolster security operations in Maguindanao del Sur and Maguindanao del Norte, according to military officials overseeing the operation.
Brigadier General Gremel B. Brual, commander of the 601st Infantry "Unifier" Brigade, disclosed that the deployment targets 15 municipalities in Maguindanao del Sur and three towns in Maguindanao del Norte. The augmentation includes the 75th Infantry Battalion, which will join existing military units in the region.
The reinforcement comes as part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security across the two provinces in Mindanao. Military officials say the additional troops will enhance coordination and response capabilities in areas under their jurisdiction.
The deployment reflects the Armed Forces' commitment to supporting local government units in the Bangsamoro region and ensuring the safety of residents in the affected municipalities.
