Philippine authorities seize P20.4 million in drugs off Tawi-Tawi

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) coordinated with Philippine Marine and police personnel to execute the operation in the seas off Tawi-Tawi. Abraham "Datu" Kalim, PDEA-BARMM's Tawi-Tawi provincial officer, confirmed the details of the drug interdiction during a briefing in Cotabato City.
The joint task force conducted the buy-bust operation as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the resource-rich waters of the southern Philippines. The confiscated substance, estimated at over P20.4 million, represents a substantial quantity of illegal drugs destined for local and regional markets.
