LUCENA CITY — Two fishermen were rescued by Philippine Coast Guard personnel after their fishing boat partially submerged in waters near Atimonan town in Quezon on Tuesday, September 15.

The Coast Guard discovered the distressed vessel while conducting a pre-departure inspection aboard a passenger ship in the area. Personnel immediately responded to the motorless fishing boat, which was taking on water and in danger of sinking completely.

The rescued fishermen were brought to safety without reported injuries. The incident highlights the critical role of routine Coast Guard operations in monitoring maritime activity and responding to emergencies in Philippine waters.

The Philippine Coast Guard maintains regular patrols and inspections throughout the country's coastal regions to ensure the safety of fishing vessels and commercial maritime traffic.
