MANILA — The Bureau of Customs reported Sunday that it has already surpassed its annual revenue collection target, gathering P757.406 billion from January through September 2026. The figure exceeds the agency's full-year goal of P748.494 billion, marking a significant achievement with the fourth quarter still ahead.

The early attainment of the revenue target underscores the BOC's improved collection performance this year. Officials noted the agency remains ahead of its collection program despite having three months left in the calendar year, providing fiscal authorities with additional resources for government operations.

The customs agency's strong showing reflects increased trade activity and improved compliance measures at Philippine ports. The performance comes as the BOC continues modernization efforts to enhance revenue collection and strengthen border security operations nationwide.

With the remainder of 2026 still to unfold, additional collections could push the BOC's final tally significantly higher than the approved target, potentially providing the government with a financial buffer for year-end budgetary needs.
