The Philippine National Police Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) rescued 16 victims of online child sexual abuse and arrested two suspects during operations conducted on October 13 in Rizal and General Santos City. The law enforcement actions targeted individuals allegedly engaged in the online sexual exploitation of minors across multiple locations.
The operations resulted in the apprehension of a 20-year-old woman and another suspect whose identity was not immediately disclosed. Authorities conducted simultaneous raids in both jurisdictions as part of a broader campaign against online child abuse networks operating throughout the country.
The PNP-WCPC, which specializes in crimes against women and children, has intensified enforcement efforts against online sexual exploitation following increased reports of abuse facilitated through digital platforms. Rescued victims were referred to appropriate welfare and support services for rehabilitation and recovery.
The arrests mark the latest in a series of operations targeting perpetrators of online child abuse in the Philippines. Authorities continue to urge the public to report suspected cases of child exploitation to the PNP-WCPC hotline or through other official channels.
