SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Police in the Ilocos region have reported a significant haul of illegal narcotics following an intensive week of anti-drug operations in La Union province. The Ilocos Regional Police conducted 25 crime suppression operations between September 1 and 7, resulting in the confiscation of P3.4 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal methamphetamine) and marijuana plants.
The crackdown yielded the arrest of 24 suspects found in possession of 411.48 grams of the confiscated narcotics during the enforcement drive. The operations were part of the police's broader campaign to combat illegal drug trafficking and distribution in the region.
Authorities said the operations targeted high-value drug targets and known drug dens across the province. The seizures and arrests mark a continued focus by law enforcement on disrupting the drug supply chain in the Ilocos region.
