The National Police Commission (Napolcom) has introduced revised questions in its entrance and promotional examinations for the Philippine National Police (PNP) as part of a broader effort to prevent diploma-mill graduates from joining the ranks.

The new examination format was rolled out during nationwide testing held on Sunday, when approximately 41,566 civilian and police examinees sat for the exams between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. across multiple testing centers.

The move represents a significant step by Napolcom to strengthen vetting procedures and ensure that police recruits and officers seeking promotion meet legitimate educational credentials. Officials have expressed concern that individuals with fraudulent academic qualifications may have previously slipped through the screening process.

The revised examination questions are designed to more effectively identify discrepancies and verify the legitimacy of educational backgrounds among candidates. This approach complements existing credential verification procedures within the police recruitment and promotion system.

Napolcom has indicated that this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to maintain professional standards within the PNP and ensure that only qualified individuals advance within the organization's ranks.
