Philippine ports handle over 1 million passengers during Undas travel rush

MANILA — Philippine ports processed over one million passengers during the recent Undas exodus, according to data released by the Philippine Ports Authority on Sunday.

The PPA's passenger traffic monitoring showed 36,753 travelers recorded at various port facilities as of 8 a.m. on Sunday, which coincided with the All Saints' Day observance. The figures reflect continued movement of passengers across multiple ports serving inter-island and domestic routes.

The Undas period traditionally sees increased travel as Filipinos journey to provincial destinations and hometowns to visit cemeteries and spend time with family. Port operators nationwide had prepared for the anticipated surge in passenger volume during the holiday season.

The PPA continued monitoring passenger traffic patterns throughout the Undas period to ensure smooth operations at port facilities. The data provides insights into travel demand during peak holiday seasons and helps port authorities coordinate resources and services.
