The Department of Agriculture in Davao Region (DA-11) facilitated the deals, which open distribution channels to Hong Kong and New Zealand for the locally-grown Cardava variety. The agreements represent a significant step in the regional department's efforts to diversify export markets and strengthen the agriculture sector's international competitiveness. Recent shipment data indicates growing momentum in the sector, with an initial 20-ton consignment of Cardava bananas already moving through distribution channels.
