Philippines blocks websites used to groom children into violence

Manila — The Philippine National Police has successfully blocked two websites that were being exploited by online predators to encourage children to engage in violent activities, officials announced Monday.

PCol. Allen Rae Co, spokesperson for the PNP, disclosed the action during a press briefing, noting that the Anti-Cybercrime Group had partnered with the National Telecommunications Commission to identify and block the problematic sites. The websites were operating as grooming platforms, with operators using manipulation tactics to exploit vulnerable minors and incite them toward violent conduct.

The blockade represents an escalation in authorities' efforts to combat online child exploitation in the Philippines. The collaboration between law enforcement and telecommunications regulators underscores growing concerns about the misuse of digital platforms to target young people in the region.
