The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued the alert Tuesday morning, citing the influence of the southwest monsoon, locally known as the habagat.
The warning encompasses the entire province of Zambales and the Bataan municipalities of Dinalupihan, Hermosa, and Morong. Pagasa's yellow rainfall code indicates moderate to heavy rainfall expected in the affected areas, with potential for localized flooding and landslides in susceptible regions.
The southwest monsoon typically brings moisture-laden winds from the Indian Ocean and the Arabian Sea during the months of June through September, often resulting in significant precipitation across western portions of the Philippine archipelago.
Residents in the warning areas have been advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions. Local disaster management offices are urged to monitor weather conditions and prepare contingency measures should rainfall intensify.
