BAGUIO CITY — The Philippine government is moving forward with dredging operations and pump installation to resolve persistent flooding problems affecting the La Trinidad valley in Benguet province, an official said Friday. Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon announced the dual approach during a site visit to the flood-prone Strawberry Farm area, which lies in the capital town of La Trinidad. The flooding crisis, which has plagued the region for more than 20 years, has intensified in recent times, threatening agricultural operations and local livelihoods.
