The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has activated Wind Signal No. 1 across multiple municipalities and provinces in Luzon ahead of Super Typhoon Rosal's approach to Central Luzon.
Wind Signal No. 1 is typically raised when an area faces wind speeds of 30 to 60 kilometers per hour within 36 hours, or when sustained winds of this intensity are expected regardless of distance from the typhoon's center.
The weather bureau continues to monitor the storm's trajectory and intensity as it moves westward across the Philippine region. Residents in affected areas have been advised to secure loose objects and take precautions against strong winds and possible heavy rainfall.
Additional wind signals may be raised in other parts of Luzon if the typhoon's track shifts or intensifies, PAGASA said. The agency urged the public to remain alert to updated weather bulletins and heed local government warnings as the weather system approaches.
