Philippines removes excise tax on LPG and kerosene

Finance Secretary Frederick Go formalized the removal of excise tax on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and kerosene on Tuesday, signing the resolution during the Department of Finance's budget hearing before the Senate finance subcommittee.

The action follows calls from Senator Christopher "Bong" Go to ease the burden of fuel expenses on Filipino families and businesses. The tax removal is expected to reduce prices at consumer level for both essential fuels widely used for cooking and heating across the country.
