Philippines to hold historic Bangsamoro autonomy referendum

The Philippine government is moving forward with plans to conduct a referendum that would formalize greater self-governance arrangements for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), following protracted negotiations aimed at ending one of Asia's longest-running regional conflicts.
