The state weather bureau issued an advisory Thursday indicating that scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected to persist across the National Capital Region and other parts of Luzon over the next 24 hours, despite a gradual weakening of the southwest monsoon system.
According to the weather service's 11 a.m. bulletin, while monsoon conditions are expected to ease in coming days, localized weather disturbances remain likely across key population centers and provinces throughout northern and central Luzon.
Residents in affected areas are advised to remain vigilant for sudden downpours and potential flooding in low-lying and flood-prone zones. The advisory also recommended precautions against possible flash flooding in areas with poor drainage and mountainous terrain.
The weather bureau is expected to issue updates as atmospheric conditions evolve, with forecasters monitoring whether the southwest monsoon will continue its gradual retreat from the region.
