PhonePe Invest targets retail savers eyeing equity market entry

Digital payments and fintech company PhonePe has rebranded its Share.Market platform as PhonePe Invest, signalling a strategic pivot toward capturing millions of Indian savers who currently park funds in gold, fixed deposits and mutual funds but have not yet ventured into equities.

The consolidated investment platform integrates stock trading, initial public offerings, mutual funds and derivatives alongside a newly developed Portfolio Optimiser tool—a proprietary feature designed to help users construct, monitor and refine their investment portfolios.

Rahul Chari, Founder and Chief Product and Technology Officer at PhonePe, characterised the rebranding as reflective of the company's evolution beyond serving active traders and investors. "The platform now serves as a bridge for everyday savers who have begun accumulating wealth through regular, smaller investments and are ready to explore equity market participation," Chari indicated, according to reports.

The move underscores PhonePe's ambition to leverage its existing fintech infrastructure and user base to deepen penetration in India's retail investment segment. By positioning PhonePe Invest within its broader financial ecosystem, the company aims to reduce friction and lower barriers to equity market entry for India's expanding middle class of disciplined savers.

The rebrand consolidates PhonePe's investing capabilities into a single, branded platform aligned with the company's core digital payments and financial services identity.
