Phu Quoc airport undergoes infrastructure overhaul for APEC 2027

Phu Quoc International Airport is undergoing a comprehensive infrastructure adjustment to meet the operational demands of hosting APEC 2027, one of the region's most significant diplomatic events.

The modernization plan encompasses reconfiguration of internal service roads throughout the airport complex to strengthen security, safety, and operational efficiency. Project developers are prioritizing seamless traffic flow and enhanced protection protocols required for the high-profile gathering.

A dedicated parking facility for ground service vehicles and equipment is being constructed on the eastern side of the airport's VIP and general aviation terminal. The addition will streamline aircraft servicing operations and support the anticipated surge in activity during the summit.

The airport expansion reflects broader efforts by Vietnamese authorities to position Phu Quoc as a world-class aviation hub. Recent initiatives have also included strengthening air traffic control capacity and exploring tourism opportunities that extend visitor stays and increase economic benefits for the island.

APEC 2027 is expected to draw thousands of international delegates, media personnel, and support staff, making robust airport infrastructure essential for the event's success.
