Phu Quoc APEC center nears completion ahead of 2027 summit

The APEC Convention and Exhibition Center on Phu Quoc island has reached 98 percent completion as Vietnam prepares to host the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in 2027. The sprawling complex represents a significant infrastructure investment for the country's largest island, positioning it as a premier venue for major international conferences and events.

A 4,000-seat multipurpose performance hall integrated with the convention center is expected to be finished by late June 2027, well ahead of the APEC meeting. The dual-purpose facility will serve both as a venue for the summit's formal sessions and as a cultural space showcasing Vietnamese performing arts to international delegates.

The project underscores Vietnam's commitment to enhancing its capacity to host large-scale regional and global events. Phu Quoc, located off Vietnam's southern coast, has emerged as a premier destination for tourism and business conferences, with the new facilities expected to attract additional international gatherings beyond the APEC summit.

The completion of the convention center marks a milestone in Vietnam's preparations for APEC 2027, with construction teams on track to deliver the facility within the targeted timeframe. The venue will feature state-of-the-art conference infrastructure and exhibition spaces designed to accommodate hundreds of diplomats, business leaders, and participants from across the Asia-Pacific region.
