Phu Quoc's APEC venues showcase innovative design tailored to island landscape

Architectural planners have crafted the APEC venue facilities in Phu Quoc with a foundation that integrates the island's distinctive coastline, elevation changes, and geographical characteristics. The design approach prioritizes adaptation to local conditions while ensuring the infrastructure can withstand environmental challenges over an extended operational lifespan.

Central to the project's vision are expansive outdoor public spaces that establish direct connections between visitors and the natural environment. These areas have been engineered to support sustainable development practices and long-term viability for the island community.

Construction momentum remains on track, with more than 49 percent of allocated capital disbursed during 2026 for APEC-related infrastructure projects across Phu Quoc. Planners have also initiated adjustments to Phu Quoc International Airport's master plan to accommodate the anticipated operational demands of hosting APEC 2027.

The National Committee overseeing preparations for the summit has been formally constituted with 27 appointed members tasked with coordinating all aspects of the host arrangement. These structural preparations underpin Vietnam's commitment to delivering a successfully organized regional economic forum.
