Phu Tho Province Eyes Russian Partnerships in Skills Training, Commerce

Nguyen Khac Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho provincial People's Committee, has outlined the province's ambitions to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Russian counterparts across multiple economic domains. Speaking to prospective investors, Hieu emphasized the potential for collaboration in vocational training and skills development, sectors viewed as critical to the province's workforce expansion.

Beyond education, Phu Tho is targeting Russian investment in industrial growth and agro-forestry processing, two areas where the province holds competitive advantages. The provincial leadership has identified technology transfer and trade expansion as additional priority areas for partnership, reflecting a broader strategy to attract foreign capital.

The outreach comes as northern Vietnamese provinces increasingly diversify their international partnerships to accelerate economic development. Phu Tho, located roughly 80 kilometers northwest of Hanoi, has historically focused on agriculture and light manufacturing but is now positioning itself as an attractive destination for foreign direct investment across higher-value sectors.

Official channels in Phu Tho remain open for Russian businesses seeking opportunities in the province, with the provincial administration offering support for partnership frameworks and investment facilitation.
