Piramal Finance has completed a qualified institutional placement (QIP) to raise ₹2,100 crore, strengthening its capital base amid robust lending operations. The institutional fundraise underscores investor confidence in the NBFC's business model and growth trajectory in India's retail and wholesale lending segments.
The company intends to pursue a concurrent promoter warrant issuance valued at ₹1,750 crore, contingent on shareholder approval and regulatory clearance from the Securities and Exchange Board of India. The combined fundraise effort would bring total capital mobilisation to ₹3,850 crore, substantially bolstering the company's balance sheet.
The capital infusion enables Piramal Finance to expand its loan portfolio across consumer credit, business loans, and other lending verticals while maintaining regulatory capital ratios. The fundraise reflects growing institutional appetite for established NBFC platforms with diversified revenue streams and established market presence.
The promoter warrant component requires approval at the company's forthcoming shareholder meeting, with SEBI's nod expected upon fulfillment of listing requirements and regulatory protocols. The combined equity and warrant issuance demonstrates the company's strategic approach to balanced capital management and shareholder value creation.
