MANILA — The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) recorded 1,499,454 passenger movements from October 25 through November 1, marking a significant volume during the Undas week when Filipinos travel to visit departed loved ones.
The terminal's traffic figures underscore the scale of holiday travel across the country's transportation network during one of the year's busiest periods. PITX, a major hub for provincial and intercity bus services, processed the substantial passenger load as families headed to provincial destinations and cemeteries.
Operators are preparing for additional demand on All Souls' Day as the Undas observance continues. Terminal management projected approximately 180,000 more passengers would transit through PITX during the final days of the holiday period.
The volume demonstrates the critical role of integrated transport terminals in accommodating seasonal travel surges, with PITX serving as a primary gateway for travelers from Metro Manila heading to destinations across the country.
