PITX passenger traffic tops 745,000 as Undas holiday rush builds

Passenger volume at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) has exceeded 745,000 as of Thursday morning, according to figures released by the terminal operator. The tally, recorded from Sunday through 8 a.m. on Thursday, underscores the significant movement of travelers through the Metro Manila gateway during the lead-up to the Undas holidays.

The surge comes as Filipinos traditionally travel to provincial hometowns and cemeteries to honor their deceased during All Saints' Day on November 1 and All Souls' Day on November 2. PITX, which serves as a central hub for provincial bus services, typically experiences substantial traffic increases during the extended holiday period.

The terminal's capacity to manage the high volume of passengers reflects ongoing operations at the facility, which has become a key transit point for intercity travel in the Philippines. Terminal officials have not yet released projections for total expected passenger movement through the duration of the holiday period.

The Undas season traditionally extends beyond the official holidays, with travelers often beginning their journeys several days in advance and returning to Metro Manila over an extended weekend.
