Pixar appoints Jonathan Garson as new president

Disney's Pixar Animation Studios has announced the appointment of Jonathan Garson as its new president, effective immediately. Garson, who previously served as general manager of the acclaimed animation house, replaces Jim Morris in the top position.

Garson joined Pixar in 2010 and has held several key roles during his tenure at the studio, which is known for blockbuster films including the Toy Story, Finding Nemo, and Inside Out franchises. His appointment reflects his deep understanding of the studio's creative and operational functions.

The executive brings extensive experience from across the Disney group, where he has worked for more than 30 years. His career progression through various roles at the entertainment conglomerate has provided him with broad exposure to the company's animation, production, and business operations.

Jim Morris, who led Pixar through a period of significant creative output and expansion, will transition to a new role within Disney's broader entertainment portfolio. The leadership change comes as Disney continues to prioritise its animation divisions amid evolving industry dynamics and streaming demands.
