Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fauzi said Tuesday that the departure of the Petaling Jaya Member of Parliament would not compromise service delivery to the constituency, despite the unexpected nature of the resignation.
Fahmi stressed that existing administrative structures and support systems would continue to function normally to serve constituent needs during the transition period. He expressed confidence that parliamentary and local representatives would ensure continuity of essential services.
Addressing concerns about media coverage, Fahmi recommended that individuals dissatisfied with press reporting lodge formal complaints with the Malaysian Media Council rather than pursue alternative channels. He emphasised the importance of utilising established regulatory mechanisms designed to address media-related grievances.
The remarks came as the parliamentary seat remains vacant following the MP's departure, prompting questions about how constituent concerns would be handled in the interim period.
