PKR's Hassan: Anwar unlikely to push Umno from coalition

Hassan Karim of PKR said it was inappropriate for Umno to issue threats against Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who continues to acknowledge the contributions made by the party to Malaysia's political stability. Hassan's remarks came amid ongoing tensions within the ruling coalition, where questions have arisen about the durability of the partnership between PKR and Umno. According to Hassan, there is no indication that Anwar intends to remove Umno from the government, contradicting suggestions that such a move was being contemplated. The PKR official emphasised that Anwar maintains respect for Umno's role in supporting the current administration and its policy agenda. His statement appears aimed at de-escalating friction within the coalition and reinforcing commitments to the existing political arrangement.
