CYBERJAYA, Aug 26 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Monday commended Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) for its contributions to the country's digital connectivity landscape, marking the telecommunications giant's eight decades of operations.
Anwar recognised TM's significance in bridging communication gaps across Malaysia and expanding broadband access to underserved communities. The Prime Minister emphasised the company's importance to the nation's socioeconomic development and digital transformation agenda.
In his remarks, Anwar urged TM to maintain its commitment to advancing connectivity infrastructure while ensuring that the benefits of technological progress are equitably distributed across Malaysian society. He stressed the importance of bridging the digital divide to enable shared prosperity and inclusive growth.
The statement comes amid Malaysia's broader push to strengthen its digital economy and enhance telecommunications services nationwide.
