KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has demanded a thorough inquiry into the circumstances surrounding an 11-vehicle pile-up on the LPT1 highway that resulted in four fatalities, including members of a family travelling home from National Day celebrations.
The collision occurred as Malaysians were concluding their observance of Merdeka Day on August 31st. Among the victims were family members who had been attending parade festivities, raising renewed concerns about road safety during peak travel periods when highways experience elevated traffic volumes.
