PM MITRA Park poised to transform Kalaburagi textile sector

Kalaburagi's textile industry stands to benefit significantly from the proposed PM MITRA Park, according to senior officials addressing entrepreneurs in the region. The specialized economic zone is expected to provide the infrastructure and ecosystem needed for local textile manufacturers to scale operations and access international markets more effectively.

An export awareness workshop held in the district brought together textile producers and small-scale entrepreneurs to educate them about leveraging government support mechanisms and breaking into global supply chains. Participants were briefed on the range of incentives and logistical advantages that the PM MITRA initiative offers to qualifying businesses.

The initiative comes at a critical time for Karnataka's textile sector, which has historically struggled with competitiveness in export markets. Officials emphasized that the centralized park model would enable clusters of manufacturers to achieve economies of scale while reducing individual compliance burdens.

Small and medium enterprises in the textile space, which form the backbone of Kalaburagi's manufacturing base, were urged to prepare for integration into the formal export ecosystem. The workshop highlighted available credit facilities, skill development programs, and market linkage support that government agencies are prepared to facilitate for interested participants.
