PM orders comprehensive review of TalentCorp's application procedures

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has ordered a comprehensive review of TalentCorp's application procedures, signalling potential changes to the talent recruitment agency's operational framework.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil announced the directive, noting that the human resources ministry has been tasked with examining the processes. The review will encompass application pathways for various talent categories, with particular focus on schemes for returning Malaysian doctors seeking to relocate home.

The move comes as TalentCorp, which operates under the purview of the human resources ministry, continues to play a central role in Malaysia's efforts to attract and retain skilled professionals. The agency has previously handled talent acquisition programmes aimed at luring expatriate Malaysians back to the country, particularly in high-demand sectors such as healthcare.

Fadzil indicated that upon completion of the review, the human resources ministry will submit a comprehensive report with its findings and recommendations to the Cabinet for consideration. The timeline for the review has not been specified.
