PM orders review of expert returnee process through TalentCorp

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has instructed the Human Resources Ministry to conduct a thorough examination of the processes governing the return of Malaysian experts and professionals through TalentCorp, the government's talent management initiative.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil disclosed the directive during a media briefing, emphasizing the Prime Minister's commitment to streamlining and improving the framework for repatriating skilled Malaysian nationals. The review is expected to identify potential bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the current system.

The Human Resources Ministry is expected to compile its findings and submit a comprehensive report to the Cabinet for deliberation. This move reflects the government's broader strategy to harness the expertise of Malaysians working abroad and leverage their skills for national development.

TalentCorp Malaysia was established as a statutory body to facilitate the attraction and retention of local and international talent within the country. The initiative targets high-value sectors including technology, finance, and advanced manufacturing. The Cabinet review is anticipated to strengthen the agency's capacity to execute its mandate effectively.
