PM ready to table bill in Parliament, says law minister

Law Minister Azalina Othman Said has indicated that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is prepared to table a bill in Parliament, signalling progress on the government's legislative agenda.

During recent remarks, Azalina confirmed that the necessary groundwork has been completed and the bill is ready for presentation to the lower house. However, she stressed that the timing and decision to bring the measure before Parliament ultimately depends on the Prime Minister's discretion.

"The bill is ready to be tabled whenever the Prime Minister deems appropriate," Azalina said, underscoring the executive's control over parliamentary scheduling.

The statement reflects the standard procedure in Malaysia's parliamentary system, where the government determines when legislation will be presented to lawmakers. The bill's introduction marks another step in the administration's legislative programme, with further details expected to emerge once the Prime Minister approves its parliamentary debut.
