PN accuses Bersatu of deliberately weakening coalition before Malacca election

Perikatan Nasional has launched a scathing accusation against Bersatu, claiming the party deliberately sought to undermine the opposition coalition by lodging a complaint with the Registrar of Societies (ROS). According to Takiyuddin Hassan, a senior PN figure, Bersatu's actions were motivated by malice rather than legitimate concerns.

The complaint, which PN characterises as a strategic manoeuvre, comes at a critical juncture as both parties navigate their political positions ahead of the Malacca state election. PN contends that the timing and nature of the ROS complaint suggest an effort to weaken internal cohesion within the opposition alliance.

Takiyuddin's remarks underscore deepening tensions between PN and Bersatu, two key components of Malaysia's opposition bloc. The dispute highlights ongoing friction over party management and coalition dynamics, even as both organisations prepare for electoral contests.

The ROS complaint, which remains under review, has become a focal point in discussions about the stability of opposition alliances in Malaysia. PN's public rebuke signals that relationships within the broader opposition movement remain strained, with questions lingering about coordination and trust between member parties ahead of state-level elections.

Neither party has indicated whether resolution mechanisms within the opposition coalition have been activated to address the dispute.
