PN can use PAS logo in Melaka polls despite deregistration, says Sanusi
Perikatan Nasional's deregistration will not prevent the coalition from contesting the Melaka state election using PAS's registered symbol, according to Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

The Registrar of Societies cancelled PN's registration under Section 13(1)(c)(iv) of the Societies Act 1966, but this move does not affect the coalition's ability to use component party symbols in elections, Sanusi said.
PN has not been formally recognised as a registered entity since its deregistration, limiting its capacity to function as a unified political force. However, the coalition structure allows individual member parties to field candidates under their own registered logos and party infrastructure.
PAS, as a registered political party and PN component, can provide its official symbol for use by candidates aligned with the coalition during electoral contests. This arrangement has been employed by PN in previous state elections across Malaysia.
The development comes as PN prepares for the Melaka state election, where the coalition seeks to maintain or expand its political presence. The deregistration, while technically affecting PN's legal standing as an organisation, does not preclude its participation in electoral processes through its member parties' registered symbols.
