PN denies ROS deregistration threat, vows legal response

Perikatan Nasional rejected claims that the Registrar of Societies (ROS) had threatened to deregister the coalition, characterising the matter as a political attack on the opposition bloc. Coalition leadership disputed the nature of communications with the regulatory body, asserting that recent interactions did not constitute formal deregistration warnings.

Takiyuddin Hassan, a senior figure within the coalition, announced that Perikatan Nasional intends to initiate legal proceedings in response to what the coalition views as unwarranted regulatory action. The coalition leadership stressed that the matter represents an attempt to undermine their political standing ahead of significant political developments.

The statement came as the coalition imposed restrictions on public comment regarding the ROS matter, instructing members to refrain from discussing details with the media. This directive appeared designed to consolidate the coalition's messaging and prevent internal divisions over the regulatory dispute.
